What to expect when an ArtShed Party comes to you!

Below is some key information about our parties when we run them at your home or at a venue of your choice. We will always discuss your requirements with you and agree the details before the party but the points below cover important information that applies to all our ArtShed Parties at private venues.

This information also serves as our Terms & Conditions for our Parties at Home (or other venue) and are additional to our standard Booking Terms & Conditions. By booking a party with us you agree our standard Booking Terms & Conditions and to the points below.

1) Booking & payment

In the first instance, please use our website Contact Form to get in touch about possible dates for your party.

We will then respond to you as soon as possible by email to discuss availability and agree a time and date.

To confirm the booking, you must then book using our online system and pay the £75 non-refundable deposit. You will then receive an email confirming your booking.

Once the party has run we will invoice for the balance due immediately.

Our parties cost £250 for up to 10 children (including the party child).  Additional children are charged at £15/child.

Booking Cancellations

• For cancellations made more than 14 days in advance, the deposit remains non-refundable, but no further charges apply.

• For cancellations within 14 days, the full minimum party charge (£250) will be due (less the £75 deposit already paid) unless the date is rebooked with another customer.
• If you need to postpone, an alternative date will be offered where possible.

2) Before the party

We will agree the party activity with you from a choice of canvas paintings using acrylic paints – please see our website Parties page for more details.  Please note, bespoke projects will incur an additional design fee.

We will agree how many children you expect to come to the party.

We will also provide some printed invites for you to send out to your guests.

We do not provide party bags but you are welcome to provide your own.

We do not provide food.

3) On the day

Arrival & parking

Our art teacher will arrive approximately 20 minutes before the start of the party to set-up.  Please make sure you advise us of any parking or access restrictions so that we can plan for these.

What we bring

Our art teacher will bring all the materials necessary for the activity together with easels and aprons for the children.

What you supply

• A table and chairs with space enough for all the children to sit and work on their painting.
• A covering for the table incase of spills (ideally a PVC tablecloth).
• Ideally the floor will be a washable surface or protected.
• Access to water and a sink where you are happy for paint pots and brushes to be cleaned and where children can wash their hands.

The art activity

• Total party time is 2 hours with the art activity taking approx. 1.5 hours. If party food/a cake is planned, we recommend children eat in the last 30 minutes whilst the paintings dry & the instructor clears away.
• We will arrive 15 mins early to set up and will begin the activity within 15 mins after the party start time once all the children have arrived and settled.
• PART 1 - approx. 30mins. We will guide the children through the first part of the project demonstrating how to draw the project of their choice and prepare their canvas for painting.
• Children will have a 10 min break whilst we set out the easels and the paint.
• PART 2 - approx. 30-45 mins. Children will paint their picture.
• Paintings will be left to dry on the table.
• Children can take them home or the party host can distribute them once fully dry.

We don’t run party games as the art activity takes up most of the party time.​

4) Important to note

Painting can be messy!

• We use acrylic paint and black Sharpie permanent markers that can mark or stain. However, we will keep the activity as tidy and controlled as possible, aiming to leave the area as we found it.
• Children will be expected to stay at the table to paint and will not be permitted to wander around the house/venue whilst painting.
• We will provide wipes and children will be asked to clean their hands before leaving the table.
• You will not hold us responsible for any child that accidentally gets paint/pen on their clothes, furniture or items around the house/venue.

Supervision of children

• We are fully insured and we will supervise the children whilst they are doing the painting project.
• You will supervise the children in their break time and whilst they are eating their party food.
• You will make sure any children under 5 are fully supervised by an adult and not left in our care.
• You will make sure that at least one responsible adult (in addition to our party teacher) remains present to supervise at all times.
• Please advise us in advance if any of the children have allergies or special needs that we should be aware of.
